Letter to All Preliminary Selected Team Leaders

Congratulations!

You are one of the well deserving WRTC 2006 Team Leaders (TL), before we can finalize your TL position, we need to request for the documentation as stipulated by the rules and ask you to identify your National or Bi-National Team Mate.
The time limits are the following:
To provide documents within seven (7) days after Saturday 28 January 2006.
If the documents and rescoring does not prevent it, you will be confirmed as TL and you have to select your Team Mate within 30 days after Wednesday 08 February 2006.

This message is for the Preliminary Selected TL:s of:
Regional Teams – National and Bi-National, total 32 Team Leaders (c). (TL)
Bi-National Young Teams, total 3 Team Leaders (e). (YTL)

For both above categories you and your Team Mate (TM) will enjoy a package of free hotel (shared double room), 3 meals a day and some gifts, detailed information will be released later.

For the YTL and his TM, the travel is sponsored by YASME Foundation, more about this later in this message.

For planning and booking of ticket, the WRTC program starts:

Wednesday 05 July Check in (earliest 13:00) and Registration and Dinner at 20:00.
and ends:
Tuesday 11 July Check out (latest 11:00), because Monday is Award Dinner and show
18:00-21:00.

This event is a big investment in time and money, an undertaking that the WRTC 2006 Committee is happy and honored to do. Consequently we ask you to commit yourself to participate in this event.

In case you for some reason can not accept the nomination, or for other reasons can not attend the WRTC, then the WRTC Committee will nominate the Applicant in order of scoring and of a qualifying country. Failing to fill a team under these circumstances may result in that the Team allocation is cancelled. The nominated TL is not allowed to arrange a replacement in case he is unable to attend.

Documentation Requirements

The requirements below refers to the following documents

a) WRTC 2006 – Selection Criteria
http://www.wrtc2006.com/ingles/criteria2.pdf
b) Selection Teams Progress
http://www.wrtc2006.com/ingles/criteria2.pdf

As defined in document a) 1.g) “Definitions”, the following document needs to be provided by both categories TL and YTL:
Either of the following documents:

- Birth Certificate, Passport or Permanent Residence Permit.
This document shall be valid for the country that the TL or YTL represents in the WRTC 2006.

In addition to the above document, the YTL shall submit the following documents:

- A copy of the Amateur radio license
- A copy of their national identity card or passport.

This document is not necessary if the document in the paragraph above clearly states the date of birth or the age of the YTL.

The remaining documents listed in document a) are not required as the Approved Application fills those requirements.

Within the 10 days’ period the TL and YTL shall send scanned copies of the documents by E-mail to py2yp@py2yp.ws and a copy to thomascarl@gmail.com or by Fax to +55 16 33031005. The cover Page of the Fax must clearly indicate that it is to the WRTC 2006 Committee and the callsign of the TL or YTL.

Originals or authenticated copies of the documents shall be presented to the Committee for verification at registration in Florianopolis. Failure to present such documentation may disqualify the Team for participation.
Should the documentation fail to satisfy the Committee, your TL position will pass to the Applicant in order of scoring and of a qualifying country.

Selection of Team Mate (TM).

There are different criteria for selection of TM for TL and YTL. As soon as a TM is selected, he has to provide the same documentation and follow the same procedures as under Documentation above.

Regional Teams – National and Bi-National:

The TL is totally free to select his or her TM from anywhere in the world and is also free to select from the list of Applicants, see link (b) above. A maximum of 15 of the 32 Regional Teams may be Bi-National, first 15 selections will qualify. Please note that it is not a requirement that the TM has submitted an Application.

Bi-National Young Teams

The YTL is free to appoint his or her TM from anywhere in the world except from his or her own country. The maximum age of this TM is 22 (by 31 Dec. 2005). The WRTC 2006 Committee highly recommends that the TM is chosen from the other Young Team (YT) Applicants.

The YTL and later his TM shall investigate the cheapest return airfare to Florianopolis (FLN) and inform the WRTC 2006 Committee soonest. More instructions and information will be released later.

Thank you for your support of WRTC 2006.
